DGA Website- Evaluate

I evaluated my team's website critically. I checked that the format and layout looked professional and appropriate. Based off of other people's evaluations I found out that we did a good job on the website. It was well developed because it met the requirement of raising an awareness specifically to teens about texting while driving. It clearly show that we are against it and think there are safer ways to drive. I elaborated each of the design cycle stages in depth, and at the end it really helped to create my final product. My part of the website was to create the About Us page. I think it really touched up the necessary information. Our website is reliable and helps the intended audience to make better decisions.

DGA Website- Create

In order to create the website we fist went through a training. We learned from Mrs. Hernandez how to create one and the different layouts to use. We created a texting while driving website using google sites. We chose a format that would be appropriate to fit in all the information and pictures necessary. We had to change some parts of the layout and wordings to make it more professional and appropriate. With the adjustments made it came out to be of good quality. It meets the requirements and is in depth.

DGA Website- Planning

For our plan we will split up the work. Each member of the team will be in charge of a different page of the website. Joe Cuellar will be doing the Home page. The first week he will create the website using google sites. Then he will search for information on educational sites. Bryan Martinez will do the statistics page. He will gather information and choose the best data to fits on the site. Afterwards, he will transfer the information onto charts and graphs. Denise Perez will do the Facts page. She will go to government and educational sites to look for facts and clip art. Victoria Cano will do A page about experiences. She will research people's testimonies that have been through car crashes because of texting while driving. I am in charge of creating the About Us page. I will first create a mission statement for our website and then say what our man purpose is.
We specifically chose these topics because they seem to be the most essential. We planned everything according to our interest so that we will be able to work better.

DGA Website-Design

We initially thought of creating a website with most of the information on the home page, but it didn't reach full requirements since it would be too hard to read information because it would be too cramped. Another one was to make a big title on the homepage then a list of links for information. Other group members did other designs but we decided on the best one.
Our final design is divided into four sections. First is the homepage. It will include the main title of our website. Below it will be four tabs: home, statistics, facts and an about us section. Then there will be a picture related to the topic. Then we will write an introductory paragraph. The statistics page will graph and charts displaying information about how many teens text, deaths and other things. The facts page will have information from reliable resources that back up the statistics. Finally, the last page is the about us. In tis page we will have contact information and what our preliminary goal is.

DGA Website Investigation

The topic my group got to research on is texting while driving. The purpose is to raise an awareness and inform teenagers so that they can know about this important topic. We began to research more in depth; we gathered statistics about the increasing number of accidents as a result of this being done. Also we got information on percents and graphs that have these statistics. Most of the information we got is like background information and history. This will help the reader to know what the whole point is and the reasons they shouldn't text while driving.
All the information was gathered from reliable resources and we checked the links to see if they actually work. Our PSA will be something visual that will help get the point across easier. Each part of the website will contribute to raise an awareness. For example the home page will have tabs that lead to other pages that have more information relevant to the topic.

DGA PSA-Evaluate

Our PSA came out to be successful. Our self evaluation scores were similar to the peer evaluation grades. The highest was a 95% and the lowest was a 76%. In each step of the design cycle I did the task that corresponded to it. In the investigation stage I didn't research so much. I only looked for a few facts and pictures. Afterwards, I sketched three designs to have more than one idea to choose from. We chose the best one and planned specifically every part of it. Then we started to create it according to our plan. I felt that I evaluated our team critically so that I could clearly see if it was successful or not. I can improve on being more focused and using my time wisely. Now that I reflect on it ii can tell that we could've done better if we were more dedicated. The PSA is beneficial because it raises an awareness, but we could've made it more interesting.

PSA-Create

To create our PSA we used imovie. We got pictures from the web and also the information on texting while driving. We also downloaded a video to include at the end of our PSA. This is what our PSA is mainly composed of including a background song called Mad World. We didn't make any changes after creating our permanent design and plan. We were able to follow it thoroughly. Overall, our video was created well because it meets the requirements and standards. It clearly sends out a message to teens that text while driving and persuades them to stop doing it showing them the consequences.
